What a sweet and entertaining read. Claw runs his own bakery and things are made quite difficult what with the shortage of just about everything and whilst he enjoys baking he prefers the business side of things and intends to hire a baker if the business ever takes off enough. Franny works at Star Farm and, in order to get off Earth, signed a 10-year contract and agreed to have 4-children for the colony. Sound dodgy??? That's because it is, very! When Claw gets asked to check out a speed dating event and the organisers thereof he reluctantly agrees but it turns out that it will be the best thing that ever happened to him because not only is Franny a very talented baker courtesy of her mom owning a bakery and her learning on the job but she is also his perfect match in every other way. When Claw finds out exactly how the women of Star Farm came to be on the Colony he is desperately unhappy because not only does he not know whether Franny wanted to be with him or whether she was trying to fulfil her contract and he does not want to start a relationship with someone who is not free to make her own decisions. Can he do anything about it? I liked the characters, they were really sweet and well-crafted.I received a free copy of this book directly from the author and am voluntarily leaving a review.
