The FMC in this book is a witch who summons a demon. She is a spinster and doesn’t like the rules of colonial society. By the end of the book, I still understood nothing about the MMCs character other than he didn’t like hell but he did like the FMC. Because of that, it was harder to invest in the love story.\n\nSpice: 3ish scenes\n\nTriggers: violence/death, SA (not by MMC)
Well written and a great cast of characters and story line loved it I couldn't put it down will read more from this author
All I can say is it was different. It wasn't great but it was certainly steamy. Not for the faint of heart.
I picked this up initially because of the cover which screams modern urban fantasy romance, but it's actually historical set in Australia as far as I can tell? Our main character certainly isn't a punk witch with blue hair, she's a virginal proper lady who thinks sex before marriage is wrong, but who is totally okay with killing people and summoning demons!\n\nHonestly despite the cover misrepresenting the era and vibes of the story, I still had fun with it, it delivered monster-y demon goodness and a couple laughs. The main character's brother is certainly a character.
First book in the series. I enjoyed reading it. Well written very quick read. Demelza is a great storyteller
